The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government in Andhra Pradesh started the distribution of the YSR pension Kanuka on the 1st of April, Friday.
According to the source, approximately 61 lakh beneficiaries across the State would get benefits from the scheme. Under the YSR Kanuka Pension scheme, the State Government would provide financial assistance (pension) to the eligible people of the State. Announced in 2019 by the YSRCP Government, the scheme is helpful for the underprivileged section of the State.
The State Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Minister Mr. Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy said that the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy had decided to hand over the distribution program directly to the beneficiaries. To conduct door to door distribution, the YSRCP Government made all the necessary arrangements like volunteers, village secretariats and other officials for the same.
In regard to the scheme, the YSRCP Government has already released Rs. 1,551.16 crores for pensions, which have been distributed to village and ward secretariats for the distribution. It was revealed that 2.66 lakh volunteers have been prepared for the distribution of these pensions. The officials would identify beneficiaries using biometrics at the time of disbursement of pensions.
In the next five days, on the 5th of April, the YSRCP Government would complete the YSR Kanuka pension distribution.
