The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) led Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) Government released the second phase of the YSR Kapu Nestham funds.

On the 22nd of July, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of A.P., released an amount of Rs. 490.86 crores, during an event in East Godavari district of A.P.

Launched in June 2020, the YSR Kapu Nestham scheme is beneficial for the women of the Kapu Community (Kapu, Balija, Ontari and Telaga) in A.P. Under the scheme, the YSRCP Government provides financial assistance to women between the age group of 45 to 60 years. Each woman would get an amount of Rs. 15,000 per annum to enhance their living standards and support themselves economically.

In 2020, the Andhra Pradesh Government released an amount of Rs. 491.02 crores, benefiting 3,27,349 women. Continuing the scheme for the second consecutive year, the State Government would benefit a total of 3,27,244 women belonging to the Kapu Community. The amount will be credited in the unencumbered accounts of the women.

In the two years, for the scheme, the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy Government released a total of Rs. 981.88 crores and benefited approximately 3.50 lakh women.

Adding to it, for the growth of the Kapu Community in the State, the YSRCP Government so far spent a total of 12,156.10 crores under the various welfare schemes for women. The multiple schemes and welfare activities benefitted 68,95,408 women of the community in the past two years.

It is to be noted, the previous Telugu Desam Party Government, has spent only Rs. 400 crore per annum on average for the development of women belonging to the Kapu, Balija, Ontari and Telaga communities.
