Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, held a review meeting on the school education department.
The meeting was held on the 13th of April, Wednesday, at the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Camp Office in Tadepalli and was chaired by Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. During the meeting, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister said that English Medium should be introduced in the 8th class during the academic year 2022-2023.
Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy also directed that steps should be taken to have two junior colleges in each zone, including one only for girls. The State Chief Minister also discussed arrangements for the implementation of the Jagananna Vidya Kanuka scheme this year. In regard to this, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said, the benefit of the scheme should be given to the eligible students by the time the schools reopen and for this, the YSRCP Government released Rs. 960 crore.
Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy said, “No matter how much it costs, all the children in the schools are our children and we have a responsibility to take good care of them.” He further asked officials to expedite the second phase of the Nadu-Nedu works and instructed authorities to start work on nearly 25,000 schools.
In this phase of the Nadu-Nedu programme, the Andhra Pradesh Government estimated that Rs. 11,267 crores would be spent.
