Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, has issued key orders to the officials regarding farming agricultural meters.
On the 28th of July, Thursday, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) President directed the concerned agriculture officials to write letters to farmers on agricultural meters.
Briefing about the same, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy asked the officials to explain the benefits of meters for motors in Agriculture fields and assure the farmers about the meters being a burden free and hassle free method for farming. Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy further added to inform the farmers about how not even a single penny would be extra and that the entire electricity bill due to the agriculture meter would be paid by the State Government.
Notably, the new Agriculture meter installation for farming purposes in Andhra Pradesh is a pilot project, launched by the YSRCP Government in Srikakulam, which was a huge success. After the implementation of the meters in Srikakulam, the State Government is aiming to expand the same, in entire Andhra Pradesh, in a phased manner.
Furthermore, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy also highlighted and asked to mention in the letter that the agricultural meter would save 33.75 million units of electricity in Andhra Pradesh, to fight the power scarcity.
The suggestions and the directions were made during a review meeting of the power department. During the meeting, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy also directed officials to ensure there is sufficient coal near thermal centres and make a proper plan for the functioning of the power plant with full capacity.
Chaired by Chief Minister Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the meeting was attended by the Cabinet ministers and officials of the State Power Department.
