On the 21st of February, Monday, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy who was shocked over the death of Minister Goutham Reddy on Monday paid tributes at the latter’s residence in Hyderabad.
The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and his wife conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members. Goutham Reddy’s mother wept when she saw the Chief Minister. Jagan also consoled Goutham Reddy’s father Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy.
Earlier, Jagan had expressed shock over the untimely death of Goutham Reddy through his Twitter handle. He said he had been acquainted with Goutham Reddy since his early days and expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident. “The loss of his young cabinet colleague was heartbreaking.”
On the 21st of February, Mr. Mekapati Goutham, the Information Technology (IT) Minister of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) passed away.
According to sources, Mr. Mekapati Goutham died due to a heart attack on Monday morning. He complained of chest pain, following which his family rushed him to the Apollo Hospital (Hyderabad.) He was immediately taken to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) but doctors declared him dead immediately after admitting.
Notably, Mr. Mekapati Goutham recently, on the 19th of February, returned from Dubai. He was in Dubai to hold meetings with investors regarding the development of the IT sector, for Andhra Pradesh and the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy Government.
Mr. Mekapati Goutham was two times Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Atmakur and served as a minister in the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy Cabinet.
Meanwhile, on the evening of Monday, the last rites of Mr. Mekapati Goutham is being held at his residence in Hyderabad.
Besides Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy and YSRCP Minister, Mr. Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) also paid tribute to Mr. Mekapati Goutham.
