YS Jagan To Visit New Delhi And Meet Home Minister Amit Shah?

Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, is expected to visit Delhi on the 3rd of March.

Mr. Reddy, who wished to meet Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, over issues concerning Andhra Pradesh State, sought an appointment and was waiting for a call from Delhi. If sources are to be believed, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy received a call from top leaders of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) to visit New Delhi by Wednesday (the 3rd of March) afternoon.

In regard to this, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party President, Mr. Jagan asked his Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) officials to reschedule all his programmes of the 3rd of March.

However, an official announcement regarding Mr. Jagan’s visit to Delhi is awaited.

In addition, the reason behind this sudden call and expected meeting is not clear.

If confirmed, the CMO would release a press note and put down points to be raised by Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy at the meeting.

Some of the expected issues which could be discussed are: Visakhapatnam Steel Plant privatisation issue, Polavaram Project funding issue, Special Category Status for A.P., the release of the balance amount pertaining to revenue deficit, approval of Disha Act and the three capitals issue.

A source close to development who wished to be anonymous said, “Unless it is very important, they wouldn’t have called him to Delhi.”

Call from the Delhi Government at a time when the NDA leaders are busy campaigning led to the speculations that Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s visit would be a political agenda. One of the rumoured reasons is the proposal for the YSRCP to join the NDA.

However, all details and the official announcement of the meeting and Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Delhi visit are yet to be confirmed.

Stay tuned for further updates.
