Mr. Nara Lokesh, the General Secretary of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) took a dig at the ruling Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP.)

On the 28th of July, Thursday, Mr. Nara Lokesh alleged that the YSRCP Government is destroying the education system in Andhra Pradesh.  Addressing the press conference in Andhra Pradesh and said, the GOs 117, 128, 84, and 85 could bring a huge loss for students and teachers.

What is GO 117?

posts of headmasters and physical education teachers will be abolished if there is no adequate student strength in the schools. The teachers will have to take up to 48 classes a week. There will be no Telugu medium till Class VIII.

What is GO 128?

Under this GO, the YSRCP Government has amended many norms on the reappointment of teachers across the State, including the village, Zila, Mandal, and other regions for state-run schools.

During the media, Mr. Nara Lokesh said,  “In the name of implementing the National Education Policy, the merger of schools and the rationalization of teachers have been released to endanger the education system.”

The TDP Leader further said, due to the education policies of the new YSRCP Government, Andhra Pradesh has fallen to the 19th position while it was ranked third in terms of quality education during the TDP regime.  He expressed anger that the new system is bringing about a situation where teachers have to work 40 to 48 periods a week instead of 24 to 30 periods.

Moreover, the YSRCP ministers are also humiliating the teachers of the State, who are extending support to the TDP and demanding to abolish the GOs, in the education department.
