On the 2nd of February, the Andhra Pradesh Minister for Panchayat Raj Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, commented about the Telugu Desam Party (TDP.)
The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Minister condemned the false allegations by the TDP about the arrest of K. Atchannaidu.
The TDP leaders created chaos and held the YSRCP Government responsible for the arrest of K. Atchannaidu, the President of the TDP in Andhra Pradesh.
However, Mr. Reedy clarified, it was due to the own unruly conduct of Mr. Atchannaidu that led to the arrest.
During the early hours of the 2nd of February, K. Atchannaidu was arrested by the Andhra Pradesh Police in relation to a threatening case.
Speaking to the media, Mr. Reddy said, K. Atchannaidu threatened the ruling YSRCP candidate for the sarpanch position K. Appanna.
He asked K. Appanna, the aspirant to the sarpanch post in the upcoming Grama Panchayat elections not to file nomination for the Nimmada Sarpanch post.
The arrest was based on a telephonic conversation, which was leaked and is all over social media platforms.
In the leaked conversation, Mr. Atchannaidu threatened K. Appanna.
In regard to this, K. Appanna filed a case against K. Atchannaidu, resulting in his arrest. He was registered under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC.)
The YSRCP Minister Raj Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy said, the incident and the arrest of Mr. Atchannaidu is a different matter and has nothing to do with the ruling Government.
However, the National TDP Chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu is falsely accusing Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy behind the casevillages.
The false allegations against the YSRCP President amid the upcoming Grama Panchayat elections is creating a ruckus in the poll bound villages.
Meanwhile, the TDP denied all the allegations of the YSRCP and claimed it to be a conspiracy against the TDP leader K. Atchannaidu.
As of now, Mr. Atchannaidu is in Kotabommali police station and may be shifted to Ampolu sub jail by the evening.
In addition to K. Atchannaidu, the State Police arrested 22 TDP local leaders and activists in the case. Of the total arrested, 12 of them were already sent to the Ampolu sub-jail.
Mr. Atchannaidu’s arrest triggered protests in Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts.
Srikakulam Member of Parliament (MP) Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, TDP Srikakulam Parliamentary wing President Kuna Ravikumar, Srikakulam former Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) Gunda Lakshmi Devi and others strongly condemned the arrest and sought his immediate release.
Rammohan Naidu, a TDP leader said, “The police department has not filed a case against YSRCP leader Duvvada Srinivas who was responsible for violence in Nimmada village, a village known for maintaining a peaceful atmosphere for the last 40 years. The Government is trying to win the election by hook or by crook. People will teach the Government a lesson.”
Meanwhile, YSRCP MP K. Vijaysai Reddy is scheduled to visit Nimmada village to console Kinjarapu Appanna’s family, which reportedly faced threats from Mr. Atchannaidu.
