Tadepalli: The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has accused the TDP-Jana Sena alliance government of deceiving village and ward volunteers, leaving 2.66 lakh of them unemployed and their families in distress. Speaking at the YSRCP central office in Tadepalli, party spokesperson Putta Siva Sankar criticized Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan for failing to honor their election promises.

Siva Sankar recalled that on Ugadi 2024, Naidu pledged to increase volunteers’ honorarium from ₹5,000 to ₹10,000 and assured them of job security. This promise was even included in the TDP-Jana Sena manifesto. However, after forming the government, they dismantled the entire volunteer system, pushing thousands into unemployment despite their vital role in handling Vijayawada floods, COVID-19 relief, and welfare services.

He also criticized Pawan Kalyan, who once claimed to be the “elder brother” of volunteers and vowed to double their salaries, but has remained silent after assuming office. Instead of delivering on promises, the government has arrested protesting volunteers demanding their rightful dues.

The YSRCP demanded immediate reinstatement of volunteers, clearance of pending salaries, and implementation of the ₹10,000 honorarium. The party vowed to continue its fight until justice is served.
