The Indian National Congress (INC) is soon expected to announce its list of candidates, who will contest the Lok Sabha elections in Himachal Pradesh (HP.)
The INC is expected to declare their nominees for 4 Member of Parliament (MP) seats, during the next week.
Rahul Gandhi, the President of the INC, will conduct a meeting, on the 27th of March, following which, the Party will decide the MP candidates in all the constituencies for the Lok Sabha elections.
Rajni Patil, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) in charge of Himachal Pradesh, said, “The names of shortlisted candidates will be placed before the central election committee of the party in New Delhi.”
The final decision would be taken by the Central Election Committee of the Party, which will finalise the candidates.
Himachal Pradesh will contest a total of 4 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, scheduled on the 19th of May. The four constituencies in Himachal Pradesh are Kangra, Mandi, Hamirpur and Shimla.
The major parties contesting the Lok Sabha elections are the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the INC.
The results of the Lok Sabha elections will be announced on the 23rd of May 2019.
