Nandamuri Harikrishna, son of the former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. T. Rama Rao, died in a road accident in Telangana. The 61 year old Harikrishna, was a former parliamentarian and an actor. The accident occurred at around 6:30 A.M., this morning at Nalgonda.
The actor was driving his Toyota Fortuner when his car hit the divider and flipped to the opposite side of road. Harikrishna was travelling to attend a meeting in Nellore and was in a hurry to reach the function by 9:00 A.M.
The police have confirmed Harikrishna was speeding and moving at 150 km per hour. Harikrishna was thrown out of the vehicle and suffered severe chest and head injuries. He was rushed to a hospital immediately but succumbed to his injuries.
Three others in the car with Harikrishna survived with injuries. The SUV also rammed into another car during the accident but no one else was killed.
Mr. Harikrishna was also the brother in law of AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. During the 1980s, Harikrishna became well known after he drove his father NTR on a campaign tour around the State.
