T. Harish Rao, the Finance Minister of Telangana, on the 15th of July, inaugurated a 100 beds hospital for the treatment of the Novel Coronavirus in Siddipet, Telangana.
Mr. Harish Rao said, K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, has decided to create 100-bed hospitals in all the district headquarters to enhance treatment of COVID-19 patients.
The State Government would also establish Coronavirus testing laboratories in Siddipet.
During the inauguration of the COVID-19 the hospital, Harish Rao said the administration had already procured 70 per cent of the equipment to set up the lab and would soon inaugurate the testing lab in Siddipet.
Mr. Rao said, 80 % of 100 beds, which is 20 beds would be Intensive Care Unit (ICU) facility, while all beds would have oygen supply facility.
The beds would be kept in a way that only one person would be kept in each block, maintaininh social distancing.
Harish Rao said that patients suffering with mild symptoms will be shifted to the 100-bed isolation block to provide them necessary treatment. The Government has already appointed 28 doctors and 150 nurses and support staff exclusively for the isolation block.
The Minister, however, clarified that people who do not have proper isolation facility at home will be shifted to the 100-bed isolation block where they would be given proper medication and food until they recover. Persons suffering from serious symptoms such as breathlessness will be shifted to Osmania or Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad, designated COVID-19 treatment centre.e
T. Harish Rao was accompanied by Zilla Parishad Chairperson, V Roja Sharma, MLC Farooq Hussain and other officials of Siddipet.
