Mumbai: All eyes are on the opening ceremony of 9th edition of Indian Premiere League on April 8. For the first time ever, American singer Chris Brown is prepping up to perform at the opening ceremony. American dancehall reggae trio Major Lazer along with English rapper Fuse ODG and Jamaican-American recording artist Nailah Thorbourne will join Brown at the event.
In a statement, Mr. Brown said, “We are very excited to perform in India for the very first time… Looking forward to a crazy night of mayhem and meeting all my beautiful people in India.”
“At IPL we treat the whole city like one scene and we bring everyone out for music, food and just good energy all around. All of us in Major Lazer are excited to be back in India bringing carnival to the fans,” added electronic music group Major Lazer.
Bollywood actors Ranveer Singh, Katrina Kaif, Jacqueline Fernandez, Yo Yo Honey Singh and others will also perform at the ceremony. Ranveer said, “My act will honour the spirit of cricket and victory. I want to dedicate this performance to all the cricket fans across the world.”
