Legendary singer S.P. Balasubrahmanyam, who has been tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 is in a critical condition.
Mr. Subrahmanyam was admitted to MGM Healthcare hospital in Chennai due to the Novel Coronavirus. He was admitted to the hospital on the 5th of August.
However, on the night of the 13th of August, his conditions startes worsening and he was shifted to intensive care unit (ICU.)
The 74 year old singer was on life support in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and currently under observation by a team of experts from critical care, a health bulletin issued by MGM Healthcare.
Dr. Anuradha Baskaran,MGM Healthcare Assistant Director of Medical Services, on the 13th of August released a bulletin which read, “There has been a setback in the health of Thiru (Mr) S P Balasubrahmanyam…. in a late night development on August 13, his condition had deteriorated.”
Dr. Baskaran said, “His haemodynamic and clinical parameters are being closely monitored.”
Balasubrahmanyam, who has worked across Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Hindi and Malayalam film industries and rendered thousands of ever-green songs, was admitted to the hospital here on August 5 following complaints of cold and “on and off” fever for two to three days then.
