The actress, who is vocal about social issues, took to micro-blogging site Twitter and tweeted, “Being a girl, gave the benefit of doubt to Jasleen, like many others! And like many others am embarrassed n let down! Apologies to the guy.”

Recently, a girl, Jasleen Kaur, alleged that a man, Sarvjeet Kaur, passed lewd comments on her at a traffic signal at Tilak Nagar in Delhi. The police of Delhi filed a case on the basis of the victim’s statement. The eve-teasing case went viral across the country but on Tuesday, the story took an unexpected turn. The accused alleged that the girl was a supporter of AAP and was doing it for a political mileage.

After the allegations, Jasleen Kaur responded and said, “Even if I belong to a political party, does it validate the case of eve-teasing? The college to which I belong is not a part of Delhi University Students Union and thus I cannot be a part of any university election”.

But an eye-witness came forward and revealed the story. The witness rebutted the allegations levelled by the girl. However, Sarvjeet is came out on a bail.
