The recently married Tollywood couple Vignesh Shivan and Nayanthara landed in a controversy after Nayanthara was seen wearing sandals in the Tirupati temple.
Actress Nayanthara came to the Tirupati temple in a yellow sari and Mr. Vignesh Shivan was in a silk Veshti and silk shirt. Security was beefed up as some of the devotees who had come to see the couple noticed Ms. Nayanthara wearing sandals, which sparked controversy.
Furthermore, considering the allegations, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Board ordered an inquiry, alleging that the staff involved in the security operation had failed to monitor the shoe wear.
In addition, to clarify the sparked controversy, Mr. Vignesh Shivan wrote to the TTD explaining the incident.
In the letter, dated the 11th of June, Mr. Vignesh Shivan said that they wanted their wedding to take place in Tirupati but for unavoidable reasons, it took place in Chennai. The letter mentioned, “We had a wonderful darshan and wanted to take a picture outside the temple to have this day in our memory but due to the crowd and chaos we had to exit and re-enter the premises. In the hurry, we did not realize our footwear.”
With this clarification from the Tollywood Director Mr. Vignesh Shivan, the controversy of sandals in the Tirupati temple might end.
