The whole Country is abuzz not only at the end of the year but also at the other rumour that is making the rounds. It is being speculated that Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are getting engaged on 1st January 2017! Well if the pictures of them clicked at Dehradun are anything to go by then the couple do seem to be onto something.
It all started in 2014 when Virat and Anushka starred in a shampoo commercial together. The chemistry was off the charts and soon we saw sneak peeks of their affection towards each other. Although both of them denied it for a very long time, the relationship became clear when they sat down together to enjoy a football match in January 2014. Later that year in November, Virat went on to publicly show his love for the lady by blowing a kiss towards her sitting in the stands. Since then, they have been touted as one of the power couples in the Country, both being at the top of the game in their respective fields.
But the bond hit troubled waters in 2015 and the couple called it quits over tiffs with career choices. Apparently Virat was too possessive about Anushka and she wanted to focus on her career. But it all seems to be good in the neighbourhood as the love birds have conjoined their hearts again. They were sighted attending Yuvraj-Hazel wedding and Manish Malhotra’s birthday bash together. Now, they have flow to Dehradun, Uttarakhand with each other’s parents for a New Year vacation.
But is it just a vacation or a family getaway to be soon turned into a function? Reporters have been buzzing that they both are in fact exchanging rings on January 1st, 2017! Though when a YRF representative was approached he squashed the rumours saying, “The rumours surrounding Anushka and Virat’s engagement are untrue.” Asha Kohli, Virat’s aunt, also said that she has no information or invitation of her nephew’s engagement.
The buzz is still alive though as Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan, and Anil Ambani were spotted at the Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, intensifying rumours that Virat-Anushka are getting engaged and the guests have already started arriving.
Clearing the air, Virat Kohli tweeted about the engagement rumours squashing them well enough.

So for now we will have to satisfy ourselves looking at this sweet couple, madly in love and wait for the day when they officially announce to tie the knot. That might be soon enough though!
