AIMIM President Owaisi Receives Death Threats On Social Media

AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi allegedly received death threats from social media accounts. The accounts are reportedly the same ones that issued death threats to the Editor of Rising Kashmir. The Editor Shujaat Bhukari was murdered last week by unknown assailants.

Social Media Head for AIMIM Syed Abdul Kashaf filed a complaint at the Cyber Crime Cell and informed Twitter India. The major social media platform immediately took action and suspended the two accounts involved in issuing death threats.

Owaisi has been criticized ever since he mocked the recent United Nations report on the Kashmir dispute. Owaisi supported the Center and criticized the report that described India as “fallacious, tendentious and motivated.”

The United Nations released a report alleging human rights violation in both the “Indian administered and Pakistan administered Kashmir.” The UN Human Rights Body Chief asked for an investigation into “all civilian killings since July 2016.”

The AIMIM Chief was accused of betrayal and lying about the reality in Kashmir. Owaisi said he supports the Indian Government on this issue. Owaisi explained, “I will oppose Modi till my last breath, but when it comes to the country we support the government, irrespective of the party in power.”

The Ministry of External Affairs was extremely unhappy with this report and called it “overtly prejudiced.” The Ministry further stated the report seeks to build a false narrative.
