Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav claimed the EVMs used in the Uttar Pradesh Civic Body Polls were rigged. On Saturday, the Minister stated BJP won the seats only where EVMs were used for the voting.
On Twitter Yadav said, “BJP has only won 15% seats in ballot paper areas and 46% in EVM areas.”
Yadav refused to elaborate or provide data to prove his claims. But this would ignite a fresh debate on the ongoing allegations from multiple politicians that the EVMs were tampered.
The comment on rigging the elections came a day after BJP swept the Civic Body Polls. The BJP managed to win 14 out of the 16 mayor posts in the four way contest.
