The Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) General Secretary Mohammed Anwar of Chikmagalur in Karnataka was hacked to death. Anwar was on his way home when men on a bike approached him near Gauri canal and killed him.
The local police at the crime scene reported Anwar was stabbed thrice and died on the spot. The police registered a case of murder against unknown assailants on Friday night. A search operation has also been launched to find the accused.
While some state Anwar had personal enemies who wanted him dead others insist they were fundamentalists. Anwar’s colleague Shobha Karandlaje the BJP General Secretary of Chikkamagaluru states this was the wrong of fundamentalist.
In a tweet, Shobha stated, “Bjp general secretary of Chickmagalur Sri Anwar is killed by bike borne fundamentalists. He already had threat from local fundamental goondas.”

The police are conducting a thorough investigation to ensure the killers are nabbed. In West Bengal,
Just this year two BJP workers were found dead in West Bengal. One was found hanging from a high tension electric tower while the other from a tree.
The 30 year old man identified as Dulal Kumar was found in Dabha village in Bengal. Mr. Kumar’s family has alleged Trinamool Party workers killed him. The family has dismissed allegations of a possible suicide.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee ordered the Criminal Investigation Department (CDI) to investigate both the deaths. Both the men Dulal Kumar and Trilochan Mahato were residents of different villages but under the same police jurisdiction.
The angered BJP workers organized a rally in Kolkata this evening with slogans against the CM. The protestors also burnt pictures of Mamata Banerjee at the rally.
The young BJP worker Mahato was found hanging from a tree with a chilling message written on his shirt. The message was loosely translated to, “This is for doing BJP politics from age 18. Been trying to kill you since the vote. Failed. Today you are dead.” There was a note with the same message left at the feet of the body.
