Earthquake Strikes Afghanistan And Pakistan, Tremors Felt In North India

Kabul: An earthquake with magnitude 5.9 jolted the parts of northern Afghanistan on Sunday. According to the US Geological Survey, the earthquake also shook parts of Pakistan and  New Delhi. Tremors were also felt in few parts of North India, according to reports. However, no reports of damage or casualties have been registered so far.

With 6.2 magnitude, another major quake shook Pakistan. The earthquake struck nearly 35 cities including Islamabad, Lahore, Sargodha, Okara, Rawalpindi, Muzaffarabad, Lower Dir, Sheikhupura, Kalabagh and other cities.

The earthquake hit 22 kilometres (14 miles) southwest of Ashkasham, 300 kilometres northeast of the Afghan capital Kabul, at a depth of 92.4 kilometres. The earthquake struck at 02:16 am local time (1816 GMT).
