The Indian cricket team is hoping for winds of change in Johannesburg as they started the third Test against South Africa. The Captain Virat Kohli decided to be the first in the batting line up. For the first time since 2011 India will play a match without a specialist spinner. Kohli put R. Ashwin on the bench and took Bhuvneshwar in his place. Another surprising change was Rohit Sharma was benched and Ajinkya Rahane was taken as Sharma’s replacement.
The South African followed Kohli’s tactic and replaced their only left arm spinner Keshav Maharaj with fast bowler Andile Phehlukwayo. The Indian team is already two wickets down. Lokesh Rahul and Murali Vijay were knocked out of the game before completing 20 overs. India won the match and chose to bat. Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli are on the field with 5 and 24 runs respectively.
More information awaited.
