Six terrorists were shot dead, today in an anti terror operation encounter in the Pulwama district, Jammu and Kashmir.
The gun battle broke out between the security officials and the militants, after the security officials got information about the an unidentified terrorist hiding in the area.
It is alleged that one of the deceased was a close aid of Zakir Moosa, the Chief of Ansar Gazwat ul Hind, an Al Qaeda Cell in the Jammu and kashmir valley. However, the indentities of the deceased is yet to be confirmed.
Col. Rajesh kalia, the Army Spokesperson confirmed the death of all the six militants . According to the police statement, weapons, ammunition and other such materials were also found at the encounter spot.
The State police and army launched a joint operation in Arampora Village, Awantipora and cordoned off the area.
The officials are inspecting the areas and have stopped the internet services in Pulwama. Train services between Srinagar and Banihal are also suspended as a precautionary measure.
