Hyderabad: The government has announced an extension for the Justice PC Ghosh Commission’s investigation into alleged irregularities in the Kaleswaram project. The extension, granted by Irrigation Secretary Rahul Bojja, will extend the commission’s deadline until the end of October.
Originally, the commission, led by former Supreme Court judge Justice PC Ghosh, was tasked with examining issues related to the Medigadda, Annaram, and Sundilla barrages. The initial deadline for the inquiry expired in June, and a subsequent two-month extension was granted, ending on August 31. However, as the investigation remains incomplete, the government has decided to further extend the deadline.
This extension allows the commission additional time to thoroughly investigate and address the complexities of the case, ensuring that all aspects of the Kaleswaram project are reviewed comprehensively.
