In Thiruvananthapuram, the murder of the RSS worker E. Rajesh, reveals it to be a political murder for which a FIR has already been registered.

There were reports earlier which said Rajesh was killed over a personal grievance.

However, the FIR says, “When the clashes happened between DYFI (Democratic Youth Federation of India) and BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) in Panachakkunnu colony, Rajesh, the RSS Karyavahak of Kallampally helped BJP workers. So, the accused number 1 to 11 gathered together illegally with the motive of disturbing the peaceful atmosphere.”

The FIR did not mention to which political outfit each of the accused belongs. But it clearly mentioned the murder was a result of longstanding BJP DYFI clashes which happened earlier.

In addition to this, the FIR mentioned there are 11 accused in the case out of which only six were directly involved in the murder, while the other five were involved in the conspiracy.

“Accused number 1 to 6 approached him with dangerous weapons. While the second accused held his shirt collar, the first accused attacked his left leg using a machete. Later, all the six accused, dragged Rajesh to the road and hacked him continuously,” said the FIR.

Rajesh, a 34 years old man was allegedly killed by a group. His left hand was cut off from the elbow and his body was dumped in a nearby empty plot. He also suffered injuries on his face. Eight persons were arrested in connection to this case.

Previously, the city Police Commissioner, G. Sparjan Kumar had told a popular news channel the motive behind the murder was not only political but there were personal reasons behind it. But the FIR has not mentioned anything about the personal reasons.
