Amaravati: A legal setback for YSRCP leader and former Visakhapatnam MP MVV Satyanarayana regarding lands belonging to Hayagriva Sanstha in Visakhapatnam. The High Court ruled against him in a case registered at the police station, where Satyanarayana faces arrest under an FIR.
The court declined to issue an interim order at this stage but provided protection from arrest, advising Satyanarayana to file an anticipatory bail petition. Notices were issued to the police and the complainant to submit counters, with the hearing adjourned for two weeks. Justice K. Srinivasa Reddy of the High Court issued these directives on Tuesday.
The case revolves around allegations concerning valuable lands in Endada village, Visakhapatnam district, reportedly transferred under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by CH Jagadeeswaru of Hayagriva Infratech. The Arilova police registered the case based on a complaint, prompting Satyanarayana to seek its dismissal in the High Court.
Senior advocate YV Raviprasad represented Satyanarayana in court, arguing that a civil dispute should not escalate into a criminal case and seeking protection from arrest. However, the court upheld that no interim relief could be granted at this preliminary stage.
