Kailash Vijayvargiya, the National General Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP,) on the 17th of April, announced, he will not contest the Lok Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh (MP.)
Kailash Vijayvargiya took to Twitter and said, “People of Indore, activists and well wishers of the country want me to contest the elections. But we all need to make Narendra Modi the Prime Minister for making India prosperous and rich.” He further added, “The people of West Bengal are with Modi. I have to live in Bengal, so I have decided not to contest the elections.”
Mr. Vijayvargiya was nominated as the Member of Parliament (MP) candidate from the Indore constituency in Madhya Pradesh.
The Party did not announce any particular reason regarding the exit of Kailash from the elections.
Madhya Pradesh will contest a total of 29 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, which are divided into 4 phases. The elections are scheduled to be held on the 29th of April, 6th of May, 12th of May and 19th of May.
The major parties contesting the Lok Sabha elections are the Indian National Congress (INC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)
The results of the Lok Sabha elections will be announced on the 23rd of May 2019.
