M. V. V. S. Murthy, Member of Legislative Council of Andhra Pradesh, died in a car accident in the United States of America on Monday (USA local time.)
The incident happened on Monday afternoon when the car crashed with a truck coming from the opposite direction near milepost 185 of the Parks Highway.
There were more four people in the car, Velivolu Basava Punnaiah, Veeramachineni Sivaramakrishna, V. B. R. Chowdary and Kadiyala Venkataratnam. All of them were on their way to visit a wildlife sanctuary in Alaska.
According to sources, two of the five passengers died on the spot and two others passed away while they were being taken to the hospital. The fifth passenger, Kadaliya, is alive and receiving treatment at a hospital in Alaska.
Murthy went to the U.S.A. a few weeks back to attend a Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM) University alumnus meet with the GITAM Alumni Association of North America (GANAM) in California on the 6th of October. GITAM was founded by M. V. V. S. Murthy. He established and lead the foundation with many universities in Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and East Godavari in association with the Andhra Pradesh Government.
M. V. V. S. Murthy was a pronounced personality. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu tweeted about his demise.
Deeply saddened by the sudden demise of my long term associate, a sincere party member and parliamentarian, MVVS Murthy garu in a road accident. May his soul rest in peace. My condolences to the bereaved family.
