Major Fire Breaks Out At Navrang Studio in Central Mumbai

In a shocking incident, a major fire broke out in an industrial complex at Lower Parel in Central Mumbai. The flames engulfed the fourth floor of the building shortly after midnight. Officials reported the fire started at around 1 A.M. on Friday. The fire caught at a dilapidated Navrang Studio in Todi Mill Compound at Senapari Bapat Marg. The Navrang Studio has been shut for years now.

Officials have not yet reported any casualties and the firefighters are working towards containing the flames. A total of eight fire engines, seven tankers and an ambulance were rushed to the spot. One of the Officials said, “The studio building is old, unoccupied and precious.” He further stated the cause of the fire is still unknown.

Deputy Chief Fire Officer R. Chaudhary reported, “This building has not been functional for nearly 20 years now. The fire broke out on the fourth floor of the building. Operations are still underway.” The Officer also explained the condition of the building is bad and can collapse at any moment.

This is one among many fires that have broken out in Mumbai in the past few months. On the 6th of January, the Cinevista Studio located in East Central Mumbai caught fire. After the fire was doused a search operation was conducted inside the premises. Officials found the charred body of an audio assistant inside the studio.

In another fire incident on the 3rd of January, flames engulfed a residential building in East Andheri in Mumbai. The fire cost the lives of four people and injured more than five people.

Another fire incident occurred on the 29th of December when a fire broke out at the Kamala Mills Compound in Central Mumbai. The blaze caught due to a hookah bar in the complex. The fire claimed the lives of 14 people and injured around 21 people.
