On Wednesday morning, students from Narayana Junior College in Nizampet Hyderabad were angry at the fact the college denied them a holiday. This resulted in the students vandalizing the classrooms of the institute.

The second year students studying MPC had requested for homesick leaves but were denied by the institute.

On Wednesday, at 2 A.M., the enraged students locked the college building and started pelted stones and breaking windows on three floors. The students ransacked the classrooms and damaged the furniture in the offices and the classrooms. They even attempted to set some of the materials on fire but failed.

The students were very angry and even threw the water tank from the roof. The officials had to break the locks on the door to enter.

The students spoke to the local media where they explained that since the beginning of the semester in May they were not given a single leave to go visit their families.

The students have also been complaining about the unhygienic state of the toilets and the quality of the food.

The college staff alerted the police when they saw the students ransacking the place.

KBHP Colony police station Inspector Kushalkar reported the students and the administration had sorted the issue out and the situation was back to normal. He said, “Holidays have been declared, and normalcy has returned. As of now, the college administration is yet to file a complaint. Therefore, there has been no case registered.”
