Pragathi Nivedana Sabha: Does KCR Plan To Dissolve The State Assembly Tomorrow?

The Telangana Government is conducting the Pragathi Nivedana Sabha tomorrow on the outskirts of Hyderabad. According to TRS members, the event is the first of its kind with the Chief Minister presenting a report showcasing their progress.

While the TRS Government gears up for one of the biggest public meetings held in India, speculations arise about KCR planning to dissolve the State Assembly. Dissolution of the State Assembly is done just before the elections. However, this would mean Telangana would have an early election with 4 other states in November this year.

A BJP Spokesperson says the possibility of an early election for Telangana is unlikely as the Election Commission (EC) is already in process for the 4 other states. This means the EC may not have the time or resources to accommodate Telangana as a last minute entry.

During an interview, KCR’s daughter and Nizamabad MP K. Kavitha did not accept or deny these claims. The TRS Government is the first State Government in India to present a progress report. KCR will present the achievements of the Telangana Government in the past 4 years.

The event will be held on the 2nd of September and is expected to draw over 25 lakh people to the venue. The TRS meet will be held at Kongarakalan village on the city’s outskirts.

The venue covers a 1,600 acres land with transport facility and a stage to accommodate 500 delegates. Around 25 connecting roads were developed to reach the location. The Kongarakalan road was also expanded from a two lane street to a four lane road.

IT Minister K. T. Rama Rao also visited the venue and insisted a special enclosure for the women cadres attending the event. KTR also explained that all those reaching the venue earlier in the day will be served lunch.
