Raghvendra Singh Chauhan, on the 22nd of June, was sworn in as the Chief Justice (CJ) of the Telangana High Court.

E.S.L. Narasimhan, the Governor of Telangana, administered the oath of office to Justice Raghvendra Singh Chauhan at 10:30 A.M., at Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan, Telangana.

Mr. Chauhan was appointed as the CJ of the Telangana High Court on the 19th of June.

The decision to appoint Chauhan as the CJ of the Telangana High Court came after Thottathil Bhaskaran Nair Radhakrishnan, the former CJ of the Court, was transferred to Calcutta High Court.

Justice Chauhan was serving as the Acting Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court since the 28th of March 2019.

Raghvendra Singh Chauhan started his career as an advocate in the Rajasthan High Court. He was later elevated as a permanent judge of the Court in 2005. After serving in the Rajasthan High Court, he was transferred to the Karnataka High Court and then in 2018, he took oath as a judge of the High Court of Judicature of Hyderabad.

Soon, in 2019, Raghvendra Singh became a judge of the Telangana High Court.

Apart from the appointment of Chauhan, the Law Ministry also appointed Justice V. Rama Subramanian, a senior High Court Judge, as the CJ of the Himachal Pradesh High Court.

Raghvendra Singh Chauhan will take over his charge as the CJ of the Telangana High Court on the 22nd of June.
