In Santacruz East in Mumbai, Inspector Gyaneshwar Ganore’s wife was found murdered in their house today. The inspector is posted at the Khar police station and worked on the Sheena Bora murder case.
Gyaneshwar was one of the investigating officers for the high profile murder case. He also headed the team that arrested the accused Indrani Mukherjee.
The police have named Gyaneshwar’s son as the prime suspect who has been missing since last night. The son left his phone in the house.
The police have alleged the son killed his mother by slitting her throat. The boy went as far as scripting a note on the floor with his mother’s blood. The note read, “I am tired of her. Catch and hang me.”
Ganore arrived home after work and found the house locked from the outside and the keys in the shoe rack. When he entered the house he found his wife, Deepali lying in a pool of her own blood. Ganore immediately called the police control room. She was then rushed to a nearby hospital and declared dead.
The woman’s body will remain at the hospital for a postmortem. A murder case has been registered and an investigation is underway by the Vakola police.
