Today at around 11:45 A.M., two grenades were hurled one after the other targeting Minister Naeem Akhtar and his convoy in Tral in Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir.
The attack has killed three civilians and nearly 20 people were injured among which 12 are security personnel. The minister managed to escape the attack without getting hurt but his driver was injured.
The terrorists managed to escape from the crowded street after throwing both the grenades near a bus stand that was crowded with people in the heart of the city.
A police officer reported, “The area has been cordoned off for searches.”
Eyewitnesses stated that among the injured eight were paramilitary troops and four policemen and the remaining civilians. Of the three people who lost their lives one of them was a college student, Pinky Kour who was only 17 years old.
The spokesman of Jammu and Kashmir and the Youth president, Waheed-ur- Rehman Tweeted, “Killing innocents is cowardice.”
