In Canada, another incident of homicide has been reported with the killing of 24 year old Sanraj Singh.
The killing of Sanraj Singh due to gunshot wounds in Alberta province is the latest incident in the Sikh homicide incident in Canada. The incident was confirmed by the Canada police. The police added that the incident occurred at 8:30 P.M., on the 3rd of December. The police further said, “Singh was given CPR by the police until paramedics arrived and declared him dead.” Furthermore, on the 7th of December, the Edmonton Medical Examiner completed an autopsy of Sanraj Singh.
The police statement further added, “The cause of death was gunshot wounds, and the manner of death is homicide.”
In addition, the Homicide investigators have released images of a vehicle of interest that was seen leaving the area at the time of the homicide and gunshot.
In the past few days, Canada witnessed many deaths of Sikh by gunshot. Recently, Harpreet Kaur, a 40 year old Sikh woman died on the 7th of December, after being stabbed multiple times at her home in Surrey, British Columbia.
The incident came just two days after 21 year-old Pawanpreet Kaur, another Canadian-Sikh woman, was shot dead outside a gas station in Mississauga.
In November, 18 year old Sikh teen Mehakpreet Sethi was stabbed to death at the parking lot of a high school in Surrey.
Considering the current homicide killings, the national homicide rate in Canada rose by 3% in 2021, according to Statistics Canada. In addition, the police confirmed 788 homicides in the country.
