Afghani’s arrested at Pakistan border

Crossings into Pakistan from Afghanistan has been a recurring problem since three decades.

An Afghan man and nine others were arrested in Pakistan for trying to sneak into the country without legal documents on Wednesday.

The ten member group tried to cross the border into Pakistan on Monday at Midnight. This incident occured about a kilometer north of main border crossing between the two countries. The Pakistan Police opened fire in which the Afghan man was injured.

The Khadasar police started firing after the Afghan men tried to escape from Jumagai check post. The injured Afghan was identified as Jan Agha, a resident of Nangrahar province. He was injured when he got hit by a bullet in the leg after firing started.

The injured has been shifted to hospital, the other arrested Afghans were put in prison for further investigation. Pakistan has increased patrolling the Afghan borders after illegal entry into the country increased. This situation has been worsening over the past three decades. Over three million Afghans live in Pakistan out of which half are unregistered.
