On Sunday, an Indian student of Northern Illinois University, was killed in a road mishap. Sai Kumar Adluri, a resident of Tirupathi, Andhra Pradesh was pursuing his masters in electrical engineering in Illinois, where the accident happened.
Sai, who was driving a car back home, was hit by another car from behind and killed on the spot. The Indian Students Association said that Sai was a native of Sri Bomma Rajapuram of Tirupathi. Adluri was set to graduate in December 2017.
The association, speaking about the incident said, “Sai and a friend was (sic) involved in an accident near the university earlier this morning and the other vehicle involved was the one at fault. Sai was not lucky enough to make it. The other person in his car is currently undergoing treatment in a trauma center in Rockford.”
The Telangana State NRI affairs Minister K.T. Rama Rao has been intimated about this accident. An appeal was made to Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu so as to bring the boy’s mortal remains back to India.
