The death toll in the devastating earthquake in Mexico has increased to 237, last reported 143 people had lost their lives. On Wednesday, rescuers raced against time after they got news of a 12 year old girl trapped under the rubble of a school in central Mexico.
The rescuers managed to find Frida Sofia who told them that there were two more students but unsure if they were alive. Frida was stuck under Enrique Rebsamen School when the rescuers saw a hand come out from the rubble they quickly went to her aid. The parents of the girl waited as they watched rescuers remove 21 bodies of school children from the rubble.
Fourteen hours into the rescue mission to save Frida, the workers made an urgent plea to hold parts of the school that was collapsing while they struggled to save her.
Rescue operations have been undertaken all over Central Mexico and the workers have managed to save 50 people from under the rubble.
The rescue workers even saved a golden retriever from the rubble in Central Mexico. The dog seemed unharmed but was afraid as the rescuers pulled him out the crowd cheered and applauded seeing the dog was alive and well.
