After days of fighting at the Ukraine-Russia border, on the 28th of February, Monday, the leaders of the two nations are conducting a meeting.

The talks between Ukraine and Russia have started at the Belarussian border, confirmed Ukrainian presidential advisor Mr. Mykhailo Podolyak.  While Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine would talk for Ukraine, Belarus leader Alexander Lukashenko would represent Russia.

Meanwhile, despite the negotiation talks, Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, ordered defense chiefs to put nuclear “deterrence forces” on high alert.

According to sources, talks are being held at Ukrainian-Belarusian border in the Pripyat River region (Ukraine) and Gomel (Belarus.)

This is the first time the two nations, which were in conflict over Ukraine’s invasion and Russia’s offensive military launch, are holding talks.

It is to be noted, in Ukraine and Russia, the situation was said to be tensed, after Mr. Vladimir Putin announced military forces at the Ukraine-Russia border.  Following the announcement, the two nations witnessed explosions and ceasefires, which killed civilians and troops of both the countries and left several injured.

According to the Ukraine officials, 210 civilians died and 1,100 people were injured in the past 48 hours, whereas in Russia over 1,300 people lost lives.
