In Ukraine’s Mariupol city, a Russian airstrike occurred at a maternity hospital on the 9th of March, Wednesday. The incident was reported amid warnings from the West that Moscow’s invasion is about to take a more brutal and indiscriminate turn.
According to the Ukrainian officials, the airstrike attack wounded approximately 17 people and killed 3.
According to sources, a series of blasts blew out windows and ripped away much of the front of one building. The situation is being controlled by the police and soldiers, who started evacuating victims, especially pregnant women. Volodymir Nikulin, a top regional police official, said, “Today Russia committed a huge crime.” He further added, “It is a war crime without any justification.”
Furthermore, the Ukraine administration condemned the attack and said the airstrike attack happened when the Russian Government agreed on a temporary ceasefire, so that civilians can escape the war torn Ukraine.
The Mariupol city council said the strike had caused “colossal damage”, and published footage showing burned out buildings, destroyed cars and a huge crater outside the hospital.
