Amaravati: Mukesh Kumar Meena, the State Chief Electoral Officer, has issued a directive encouraging the use of the Suvidha portal for obtaining prior permission for various election-related activities. These activities include meetings, rallies, processions, door-to-door campaigning, and leaflet distribution organized by political parties and their representatives in compliance with the election code of conduct in the state.

According to  Meena, interested parties must submit their applications through the Suvidha app or directly to the respective returning officer at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled event. Upon submission, permissions will be processed and granted within 24 hours.

Furthermore, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has introduced the Sudha Portal, facilitating online filing of nominations, affidavits, and applications for advance permissions.

A meeting convened under Meena’s chairmanship at the state secretariat brought together representatives from all recognized political parties. The objective was to elucidate the requisite procedures to be adhered to by political parties and their representatives in accordance with the state’s election code of conduct.

The gathering saw participation from a wide spectrum of political parties, including the Aam Aadmi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party, BJP, CPI (Marxist), Indian National Congress, National People’s Party, TDP, YSRCP, and others, with Additional CEO M.N. Harendhira Prasad was also in attendance.
