Nellore: In a dramatic turn of events, police reached the residence of YSRCP leader and former minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy to serve a notice in connection with an illegal quartz mining case involving unauthorized use of explosives and transportation. However, anticipating the police visit, Kakani reportedly locked his house and left the premises, leaving law enforcement officials in a quandary.
SI Hanif, speaking about the incident, stated that the police arrived at Kakani’s house to hand over the notice for investigation but found the house locked. Attempts to reach his personal assistant (PA) also failed, as the phone was switched off.
As per the notice, Kakani Govardhan Reddy has been directed to appear before the Nellore Rural DSP office at 11 AM on March 31 for further inquiry. The case has raised political tensions in the region, with opposition parties questioning the former minister’s alleged involvement in illegal mining activities.
The incident has sparked speculation about Kakani’s next move and whether he will comply with the police summons. Authorities are now closely monitoring the situation.
