Tirumala: A Special Investigation Team (SIT), along with CBI officials, is conducting a thorough probe into the adulteration of ghee used in the preparation of Srivari Laddu Prasadam at Tirumala. The investigation, initiated under Supreme Court orders, has been ongoing for two days.
The SIT, operating under the supervision of CBI officials, has formed three dedicated teams to handle different aspects of the case. The teams have already gathered details about Dindigul AR Dairy in Tamil Nadu, a key supplier. Officials have also inspected marketing warehouses of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) in Tirupati and reviewed tender processes for procuring ghee.
This investigation stems from a case registered at the Tirupati East Police Station. The SIT aims to identify irregularities in the supply chain and procurement processes that may have led to the adulteration of the sacred prasadam’s key ingredient.
The sacred Srivari Laddu Prasadam is a hallmark of devotion for millions of pilgrims, making this case critical for maintaining trust and transparency in TTD’s operations. Further updates are awaited as the investigation progresses.
