Mangalagiri: K Atchannaidu, the president of Andhra Pradesh’s Telugu Desam Party (TDP), has urged the Election Commission of India (ECI) to take action against government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy.
Atchannaidu’s demand comes in response to Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy’s participation in political press conferences, where he allegedly addressed matters beyond his role as a government advisor.
During a press conference on Monday, Atchannaidu expressed his concerns to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) regarding Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy’s involvement in political activities while serving as a government advisor.
Atchannaidu emphasized that individuals holding advisory positions in the government should refrain from engaging in political discourse, as their primary role is to offer counsel on administrative matters rather than partisan affairs.
Alleging that Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has been actively involved in political activities aligned with the ruling YSRCP for the past five years, Atchannaidu demanded swift action to address the apparent violation of norms.
The TDP president called for immediate intervention by the Election Commission to uphold the integrity of electoral processes and ensure adherence to established guidelines regarding the conduct of government officials during election periods.
Atchannaidu’s stance underscores the importance of maintaining impartiality and transparency in the electoral process, highlighting the need for accountability among public officials to uphold democratic principles.
