Tirumala: TTD Executive Officer (EO) J Syamala Rao held a crucial review meeting on monsoon preparedness with the Engineering department at Gokulam Rest House. The meeting focused on ensuring the safety and readiness of Tirumala during the upcoming monsoon season.
Officials presented a detailed report on the restoration of the second ghat road, which has historically suffered from boulder falls during heavy rains in 1996, 2004, 2005, 2015, and most recently in 2021. The presentation highlighted the measures taken to prevent such incidents and ensure the safety of pilgrims.
The review also covered the status of Tirumala’s five main dams, which, along with Kalyani Dam, are essential for providing water to pilgrims. The EO emphasized the importance of a comprehensive Disaster Management Plan to tackle potential monsoon-related incidents.
In addition to the engineering review, the EO also assessed the procurement and warehousing departments to ensure efficient management and storage of essential supplies.
This meeting underscores the TTD’s commitment to the safety and well-being of its pilgrims, ensuring that all necessary precautions and plans are in place ahead of the monsoon season.
