Tirumala: The TTD has resumed the scanning of Divya Darshan tokens at the 1200th step along the Srivari Mettu footpath route, with a trial run conducted on Thursday. Devotees who obtain Divya Darshan tokens at Srivari Mettu must now undergo scanning at the 1200th step to be allowed into the darshan queue lines, reinstating the earlier practice.
TTD officials have urged devotees to note this change and plan their darshan accordingly. The decision to resume scanning has been met with a positive response from the devotees, who appreciate the improved organization and access. Previously, the government had halted the issuance of darshan tokens for footpath route devotees, causing inconvenience.
The newly appointed TTD EO, J Syamala Rao, has reinstated the darshan token process to enhance the pilgrimage experience. Sources indicate that officials aim to provide darshan opportunities for as many devotees as possible each day, ensuring a smooth and efficient system for all.
