An excited Virat Kohli speaking about the clean sweep win against England said this achievement is a “massive boost for Indian cricket.” The captain added, “Winning all three formats feels really good, because we were up against a top-quality side. It is great, since we didn’t have that much experience in our teams. The Test team is almost as good as new. In the ODIs, we had three-four experienced guys, but the rest who stepped up were youngsters. This is a massive boost for Indian cricket.”

The young captain, who tasted his first full tour as a Captain said that he looked to M.S. Dhoni for advice. He said, “I take a lot of advice from M.S. (Dhoni,) and from Ashish Nehra too.” He added, “The way we batted was a revelation. Even after I got out early, Raina and K.L. (Rahul) didn’t stop their instincts.”

Kohli gave credit to every member of the team and explained that the success of spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Amit Mishra has absolved the decision to rest R. Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja. “Having guys like Chahal, Mishra, Jayant and Rasool gives us an opportunity to rest Ashwin and Jadeja whenever we want”, he quoted.

Speaking at the press meet, one of the journalists quipped Virat about his form as an opening batsman. The Captain was questioned about his out of form batting in the series for which the captain replied in Hindi and translated as, “What do I say, sir? We won the series, and still you are saying this? In the IPL, I opened the innings, hit four centuries, everyone said that it was a huge success. Now that runs haven’t come, it is a problem. Sir, focus on the 10 other players too. If I do everything, what will the others do?”

The Captain, who led the team to a win gave the credit to his entire team and said that it is not one man’s success but the whole team’s effort. Well, all we can say is ,Way to go Team India and keep up the Good Work!
