Andhra Hospitals: Filling Gap Between Doctors And Patients

Hyderabad: Meet the man behind the successful journey of Andhra Hospitals, Paturi Venkata Ramana Murthy. Establishing himself as a consistent businessman and a doctor, Andhra Hospitals Group Managing Director Mr. Murthy says that the gap between patients and doctors was growing and it is the prime ambition of the doctors to bridge it.

With the world-class equipment and most advanced healthcare services, Mr. Murthy inaugurated multi-speciality hospitals in residential areas of Vijayawada city. With his experience in the hospital management, Dr.P.V. Ramana Murthy, M.S., FRCS. (UK) is treating thousands of people in Andhra Pradesh.

The England return, Mr. Murthy formed the Andhra Hospitals in 2004 with nearly 100 beds and 5 doctors and later inagurated five other hosiptals within a span of 12 years expanding their facilities at Bhavanipuram, Eluru and Machilipatnam.

Creating a new trend in the hospital management, almost all the specialists were made share holders in Bhavanipuram hospital.

“With so much less insurance population, it is difficult to sustain a hospital”, says Mr. Murthy when asked about why there were no mutli-speciality hospitals in Vijayawada. To build a better infrastructure in the new capital, he says there should be growth in population.

Expanding their boundaries, a new cancer hospital is under contruction in association with Amercian Oncology Institute. Mr. Murthy, who believes in group practice, says that he is also successful in balancing his both professional and personal lives.
