Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the President of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP,) is likely to take oath as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (AP) on the 30th of May.

Jagan, on the 23rd of May, addressed the media and announced the date after the YSRCP won the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections with a majority of 150 seats.

The YSRCP members are expected to meet on the 25th of May, to formally elect Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy as the leader of the AP Legislative Assembly.

The YSRCP took to Twitter and made an official announcement regarding Jagan taking the oath on the 30th of May. This will be Jagan’s first term as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

Jagan won in the Pulivendula constituency with a majority of votes.

The results of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections were announced on the 23rd of May.

As per the results, the JanaSena Party secured 1 seat, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) secured 24 seats and the YSRCP won with a majority of 150 seats.

The YSRCP performed well in the Lok Sabha elections as well, as the Party bagged 22 Lok Sabha seats in the State.

All the major parties contested a total of 175 Assembly seats and 25 Lok Sabha seats in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
