On Tuesday, a teacher hit a six year old student for not doing her homework and fractured her hand.

The incident happened at Vadadhi village in Bucchayapeta Mandal in Visakhapatnam district, Andhra Pradesh.

The victim is a UKG student from a private school in Vadadhi.

Irked with her indiscipline for not completing the given homework the school teacher hit the minor with a cane. The girl’s hand started swelling up and the teacher sent her back home.

Once home, the girl’s parents took her to the hospital after she complained of severe pain. The family was shocked to see the X-ray that showed the girl’s hand was fractured.

V. Nageswara Rao, the father of the girl reported to the media that the school severely punishes the student even for trivial issues.

District Education Officer G. Nagamani has sent a Mandal Education Officer to the school to probe and submit a detailed report. She was quoted saying, “A stern warning against implementing corporal punishment has been issued to the school management.”

The family has not filed a complaint against the school at the local police station.
